Back in action! I've been working away these last few months, just been too lazy to post. So here's the mega-art vomit, woo! I participated in Jake Parker's inktober challenge, where for the 31 days of October, you have to do 31 ink drawings. My theme for the month was to do each drawing based upon a song, so for each day I would listen to a song, and then spend the day coming up with a drawing inspired by the song, either loosely or faithfully adhering to the lyrics of the song. So here are the images, along with a few extra sketches. This was fun, thanks to inktober, I finished a sketchbook in a month.

Painting Robots
Long time no post! My scanner cable is lost at the moment, but when a new one arrives I'll be uploading quite a lot of work. I've also decided its time to start building a portfolio showing the kind of work I want to do, so to that end, here is my first digital painting in too long. The piece is also for a project done by Iris Muddy called Freehand: Art for Peace. I plan on doing a post soon with general steps just so I can remember how to pull this off again in the future.

Sketches from a while back.
Keep meaning to update this blog more regularly...here are drawings I've done since the last time I updated. On sketchbook number seven right now. Also been doing a lot of figure practice using online tools, but those are a lot of pages that I do not want to scan in.

Portrait for a friend
In honor my friend Sarah's birthday, I decided to paint her. Since this was meant to be a surprise, the photo I was working from was some tiny image off of facebook, but that made the exercise all the better, as I had to compensate for all the issues that using a tiny facebook photo entails. Had fun experimenting with the background and the overall process.

Vacation sketches and wrapping up sketchbook number 6.
Recently, I was on vacation with my family in the UK and France. While I sketched a lot from imagination there, I also attempted to practice working from observation, particularly for making quick sketches of notable buildings we visited. Posting those sketches up here, as well as most of the other work from the sketchbook I'm soon finishing up.
